Fire Alarm Cable is a specialty wire that is manufactured by KENTER Wire & Cable for use in multiple fire or alarm applications. An automatic fire alarm system is designed to detect the presence of fire by monitoring environmental changes associated with combustion. Automatic fire alarm systems are intended to switch on the sprinklers, gas isolation systems & notify the building occupants.
The cables used for this system must have fire retardant as well as low smoke emitting properties, thus only FRLS / ZHFR cables of size 2 Core X 1.5 Sq.mm. Copper Conductor, FRLS PVC / ZHFR Insulated, Galvanised Wire Armoured and FRLS PVC / ZHFR Sheathed cables are used for this application. The outer sheath colour is RED to identify the Fire Alarm System Cable. Fire Survival Cables are also widely used.
